Transverse Sections Through Vertebral Levels T10 and L1
These are idealized transverse sections at the level of the bodies of the tenth thoracic (left) and the first lumbar vertebrae (right).
Structures visible in this section are: liver, gallbladder, stomach, pylorus and duodenum, jejunum, transverse colon and left colic flexure, spleen, left and right kidneys, pancreas, bile duct and hepatc portal vein (junction of the superior mesenteric and splenic veins), inferior vena cava and left renal vein, abdominal aorta, the diaphragm and costodiaphragmatic recess.
