Injuries From Explosion
A series of exhibits to show the plaintiff's injuries from an explosion and surgical treatment.
The illustrations of the appearance of injuries immediately after the explosion and after multiple surgeries are based on radiographic findings, emergency department reports, operative reports, and deposition records. The plaintiff's films were scanned and traced to precisely illustrate the bony and soft-tissue appearance. The appearace of the neuromuscular anatomy and skin graft procedure are based on operative reports.
The goal of this type of medical legal exhibit is to clarify for a jury the full extent of the plaintiff's injuries, which can be difficult to fully understand from just the highly technical and detailed— and overwhelming to the non-medical public— information found in medical reports, witness depositions, and diagnostic films.
